Introduction to e-signing with Assently
A case in Assently can be signed by one or several parties, and can contain one or several documents. Each party signs the entire case with their e-signature.
When a person signs a case in Assently E-Sign, the service ensures that the person has reviewed the entire case.
If a case contains documents that are fillable before signing, the fillable fields are locked once the first person has signed. All parties are signing the same information.
Do you need to sign on each page? Write initials on each page?
When you e-sign, there's no need to sign on each page or write initial on each page you have reviewed. Everyone signing has reviewed all pages, and once signed, the case is sealed to prevent changes in the signed document. Learn more about how to verify authenticity.
Are signature fields required in the document?
No, the electronic signatures are added to a separate receipt page after the document/documents in the case. You can remove any signature fields in a document before uploading it to a case.
It's common that forms have signature fields. To make it clear that the e-signatures are found on the receipt page, you can write "E-signed by the parties", or something similar in those fields. There is also a feature for placing a touch signature in the documents that can be used when required.
